Description Product
The sport kit's short springs will help you optimize the driving comfort of your VW Golf 1. Once installed, they will lower your vehicle's center of gravity by 40 mm for a sportier character and look.
Shock absorbers play a complementary role to the springs, improving roadholding, braking efficiency and vehicle handling.
Changing shock absorbers is a costly operation, but one that is crucial to the safety of the driver and passengers.
What's more, driving with a worn suspension precipitates the deterioration of other vehicle components, such as tires.
The short spring and sport shock absorber kit for Volkswagen Golf 1 consists of :
- 2 front shock absorber cartridges
- 2 Rear shock absorbers with lower cups
- 4 Short springs
Compatible with the following models:
- Golf 1 Sedan 3 or 5-door
- Golf 1 Cabriolet
- Jetta 1
Please note that screws and bolts are not supplied with the kit. You'll find what you need in the VW Golf 1 screws and bolts menu.
How can I tell if my springs and shock absorbers are worn?
Visually, you can easily spot signs of wear, such as hydraulic leaks or spring breakage.
Other negative consequences are not to be overlooked:
- Increased braking distances
- Uneven roadholding
- Noise or rattling when negotiating obstacles such as speed bumps
When replacing your shock absorbers, it's advisable to change the thrust and suspension bearings. These parts are subjected to high pressure, which accelerates their ageing process.
