- 944 phase 1 - 2.5 - 163hp (M44.01 to 04) from 1982 to 1985 without sport suspension (code M474)
- 944 phase 2 - 2.5 - 163hp (M44.05 to 08) from 1985 to 1986

The shock absorber is sold individually and is suitable for either the left or right side.

Gas-charged shock absorbers offer better heat dissipation and handling than oil-charged shock absorbers.
