8 mm valve stem seal for VW Beetle Mexico (1990–2004)

Thisvalve stem seal (8 mm diameter) is specially designed for the latest Type 1 engines fitted to Beetles manufactured in Mexico between 1990 and 2004 (notably the ACD fuel-injected or hydraulic tappet versions). By precisely regulating the oil film along the valve stem, it prevents pressurised oil from seeping into the combustion chamber and guide channels, thereby preventing spark plug fouling and carbon build-up on the valves.

During installation, protect the inner lip of the seal by placing a small plastic fitting cap over the end of the valve stem to prevent it from being nicked by the keyways. Remember to lubricate the seal with clean engine oil before fitting.

Suitable for Volkswagen Beetle ‘Ultima Edicion’ and Mexico models (manufactured between 1990 and 2004) from chassis No. 11-M-000 001 onwards and Type 1 engines: 1600cc (AF, ACD)

Sold individually (allow 8 seals for a complete engine).

Check: Ensure that the valve guide in your cylinder head has the specific retaining groove for clipping the seal into place (a feature of modern Mexico cylinder heads manufactured after 1990).
