7701021676 : Condenser for Citroën Traction

The condenser is a wear part of the Citroën Traction ignition circuit, just like the contact breaker points. Its role is to absorb overvoltages generated when the breakers open, thereby protecting the contacts and ensuring a clean spark. A faulty condenser can cause sudden breakdown and immobilise the vehicle, making it a component to monitor and renew regularly during the restoration or maintenance of a Traction. Having this component as a spare on board is a basic precaution for any owner of this classic collection car.
