A VW engine contains only 2.5L of oil. If you drive sporty on bends, you risk running out of oil at the pump due to centrifugal force.
This is dangerous, especially if it goes on for a long time.
This plate stabilizes the oil at the bottom of the engine.

It is placed under the camshaft of Type 1 engines before the block is closed.
