Product description

This rear blade lowering kit for Volkswagen Caddy mk1 (1979-1992) is made by MECATECHNIC.

Made in Europe from the finest materials, this lowering kit for Caddy Mk1 was designed by MECATECHNIC 's sales and product teams on the basis of an assembly carried out on the vehicle of an enthusiastic employee.
Depending on the number of blades, 2 or 4, and their wear (has it been driven a lot loaded or not), this kit allows a lowering of 40 to 60mm of the rear axle, the addition of shims of thickness 10, 20 or 30mm allows to lower the axle up to 90mm.

It includes :
- two perforated locking plates (for re-centering the rear axle) - Stainless steel 304 - 10mm
- two lowering spacers - Aluminium 6082
- four U-bolt leaf spring clamps - 180mm - M12 with lock nuts - Start by passing the blades under the rear axle, rather than over it, and continue lowering with the kit and any additional shims.

- Caution: the axle naturally moves forward when lowered, so even if the plates are perforated to anticipate this phenomenon and re-center the axle in the wheel arch, you may have to remove the blade-holding pin, either on the right and/or left, depending on your vehicle, the number of blades and their wear.

- standard shims are pre-drilled to allow additional shims to be fitted using countersunk screws. Rather than holding the shims in place solely by tightening the U-bolts, we strongly advise you to hold the additional shims in place with screws of your choice, re-drilling and tapping these centering holes.!!!Assembly instructions (.pdf) can be downloaded from the product page!!!!
