Locking clip / brake hose retaining clip for VW Combi Split Brazil (1957–1975)

When replacing a brake hose, always replace these retaining clips if they are bent, corroded or loose. A poorly secured hose may rub against the tyre or suspension components, causing premature wear and a risk of brake fluid leakage.

This metal clip (or ‘U’-shaped safety clip) ensures that the brake hose fitting is securely fixed in its mount on the bodywork, the front suspension strut or the rear control arm. By firmly locking the hose’s shoulder, it prevents any rotation whilst the rigid pipe is being screwed in and ensures that the line remains perfectly in place despite vibrations and suspension movement.

Check: Insert the hose into the mounting bracket, then slide the clip into the groove until it locks fully into place. Ensure there is no longitudinal play.
