- 944 phase 1 - 2.5 - 163hp (M44.01 to 04) from 1982 to 1983 with power steering (M657)
- 944 phase 2 - 2.5 - 163hp (M44.05 to 08) from 1985 to 1986 only with power steering (M657)
- 944 phase 2 - 2.5 Turbo - 220hp (M44.50/M44.51) from 1986 only with power steering (M657)

The ball joint is sold individually and is suitable for either left or right side.
