New steering mechanism housing for VW Combi Bay Window. A steering box with play does not provide a safe driving experience. Replacing it will give you much better precision during your travels as well as better comfort at the wheel. Diameter of the output shaft from the housing to the steering arm: 24 mm. Note, the steering box for Bay Window is no longer available. This box is sometimes fitted for the year 1973. Please check before purchase!! Note, the steering box may be delivered without the fixing nut for the arm, you will not be able to reuse your original nut. MECATECHNIC advises you, as a replacement solution, to order reference VH27400 or VH27390. Regarding the oil to use, Mecatechnic advises not to use oil as a differential or gearbox oil of type 80w90 could not be contained properly in the box, but rather grease as no gear in the steering box turns fast enough for oil to be necessary.
