This fuel tank ventilation valve is a new part intended to replace a worn, damaged or missing component on the BMW Series 5 E39 in Saloon and Touring versions. It ensures the regulation of fuel vapours in the fuel supply circuit, thus guaranteeing proper fuel tank operation. It is compatible with the M52 and M54 engines (520i, 523i, 525i, 528i, 530i), M62 (535i in Saloon only, and 540i), for vehicles produced from September 1998 onwards.
