Seatbelts for classic vehicles: comfort and safety for your Renault 4L and other classic models

Whether you're restoring a Renault 4L, a Porsche 356 or a 914, seatbelts are an essential part of driver and passenger safety. At Mecatechnic, we offer a comprehensive selection of retractable belts, static belts and harnesses, designed to fit many iconic models.

Which seat belt should you choose for your classic car?

The choice of seatbelt depends on the model of your car and its fastening system:

• Retractable belts: suitable for modern vehicles and some older models fitted with original equipment.
• Static belts: ideal for classic cars such as the Porsche 356 or Renault 4, offering an authentic look.
• Safety harnesses: designed for sports and competition vehicles, guaranteeing optimum support.

Replacing a seatbelt: when and why?

Over time, seat belts can wear out and lose their effectiveness. We recommend replacing them in the event of :

• Fabric wear: tears, fraying or abnormal rigidity.
• Mechanism malfunction: faulty retractor or locking mechanism.
• Vehicle restoration: to ensure compliance and safety.

Safety belts adapted to each model

At Mecatechnic, we offer specific seat belts for a wide range of vehicles, including :

• Renault 4L: 3-point belts approved for models after 1976.
• Porsche 911 and 912: attachment covers and belts adapted to models from the 60s and 70s.
• Porsche 356 and 914: static or retractor belts for faithful restoration.
