Brand new 1600cc DA alu engine for VOLKSWAGEN Beetle and Combi (-07/1979) - SSP

This new 1600cc twin-intake aluminum engine (AD code) from SSP features original 85.5 mm pistons and cylinders, an original camshaft and a new, extremely robust Autolinea aluminum crankcase. Genuine 35.5/32 mm EMPI cylinder heads guarantee the reliability and longevity for which these engines are renowned. Carefully assembled in the UK from 100% new components, each motor undergoes rigorous testing, including a half-hour run at 2000 rpm, to ensure optimum performance and durability.

Each motor is manufactured on an IATF 16949 / ISO 9002 certified assembly line, where oil pressure, cylinder compression and oil leaks are meticulously checked before shipment. Our commitment to using only OE-quality components guarantees unrivalled reliability, with no reused parts compromising engine integrity. Compatible withunleaded gasoline, each engine also includes a gasket kit, new oil cooler and flywheel.

This engine is intended for use only in accordance with the specified instructions.

It is 100% new and bench-tested, and is delivered bare, with no accessories or ignition pins, except for the oil cooler and a gasket kit (exhaust, fuel pump, etc.).

Before starting the engine, check that the cylinder heads (3.2 Mkg) and rocker arm ramps (2.5 Mkg) are tight, and that the rocker arms are correctly adjusted.

The engine is delivered without oil, the recommended oil is 15W40 (no semi-synthetic or synthetic).

We also recommend an oil change between the first 800 and 2400 kilometers and a recheck of the above-mentioned tightenings (including rocker arm adjustment).

Witha 2-year warranty, it's up to you to fit the vehicle as it was when it left the factory. In case of doubt, please refer to an automotive professional.

The warranty does not cover incidents related to incorrect assembly such as incorrect ignition timing, unmaintained engine etc. or assembly with non-original type accessories such as engine preparations, non-original exhaust, prepared carburetors, offset oil cooler etc.
