What's the point of valve honing ?

Good engine performance depends on valves with correct seats and seals. Poorly seated or carbonized valves, together with worn guides and stems, lead to hot gases escaping under pressure, reducing performance and increasing engine deterioration. Symptoms include loss of power and poor starting.

How does the run-in work?

It converts rotation into oscillating movement. Very practical, it fits standard 5/16"(8 mm) chuck drills. Polishes valves in two quick passes, producing gas-tight seals in seconds. Suction cup diameters 22/28/30/39 mm fit most valves.

Allows valves to be honed in the same way as by hand (oscillating movement), but much faster and more evenly.
