The X3 E83 was offered from 2004 to 2010 with four petrol six-cylinders, first M54 then N52, from 192 to 272 hp. On the diesel side, the table lists the M47D20TÜ and N47D20 four-cylinders, from 143 to 177 hp, and the M57D30 six-cylinders, from 204 to 286 hp, with the xDrive35d getting the twin-turbo version. All of these engines have a timing chain. Knowing which of these ten engines powers your X3 will save you from ordering an incompatible part.
