Volkswagen Beetle engine options

Different engine types for the VW Coccinelle from 1946 to 2003

From the 1946 1100 to the last Mexican 1600 i of 2003, this table follows the evolution of the Coccinelle's air-cooled flat-four through twelve versions. Output rises from 25 to 54 hp, with the carburettor reference for each engine, usually a Solex, and the torque. The final 1600 adopts Digifant electronic injection and a catalytic converter. Start from the year and displacement of your Coccinelle to find its engine, then order the parts that suit it.
