Piston plunger: the essential tool for maintaining your brakes

When it comes to maintaining your braking systems, the piston plunger is the essential tool. Whether you're replacing pads or discs, or simply carrying out regular maintenance, this equipment makes it easy to retract the pistons on your callipers. From universal models to specific adapters, there's a solution to suit every vehicle and every type of brake.

Why use a piston retractor?

• Saves time: Makes it easier to retract the pistons without damaging the components.
• Precision and safety: Provides a perfect fit, reducing the risk of uneven wear.
• Extensive compatibility: Models for front and rear brakes, and even specific models for vehicles with electric parking brakes (EPB).

Whether you're working on a conventional vehicle or one fitted with advanced systems, such as electronic parking brakes, the piston plunger offers solutions to suit every configuration.

The different types of piston plunger

• Universal models: Ideal for working on a wide variety of vehicles, such as the TOOLATELIER piston plunger, compatible with front and rear callipers. Some kits include adapters for right- or left-hand threads.
• Specific adapters: For brands such as Peugeot, BMW and pre-2007 Minis, dedicated models offer perfect compatibility. For example, the BMW F-series rear brake plunger or VAG models with EPB brakes.
• Pneumatic piston plunger: Designed for professional use, this type of tool, such as the FACOM pneumatic piston plunger, offers speed and precision. Ideal for garages or demanding enthusiasts.
