A well-known problem on all cars with a hydraulic clutch control, the "pedal sticks to the floor" effect that renders gear changes inoperative is usually caused by a clutch master or slave cylinder that has lost its seal.

It will then be useful to identify which of the master or slave operating cylinder is faulty. It may be useful to inspect the connecting hose. This is a fairly simple operation to carry out, as these parts are located outside the clutch housing and on the front of the firewall. Bleeding is also fairly straightforward, using a suitable tool.
