Product description

IMS intermediate shaft repair kit with single row ceramicbearing for Porsche 987 Boxster produced before March 2005 (M8 thread diameter only > check that you don't have the one with the M12 thread) :

- 987 2.7 Boxster phase 1 - 240 hp (M96.25) from 2005

- 987 3.2 Boxster S phase 1 - 280 hp (M96.26) from 2005

This bearing with 100% ceramic balls is stronger than the original one. It resists friction better with a high-temperature grease designed to withstand temperatures up to 180° C.

Both the bearing lubricant and the housing seal are of the highest quality available for this application, to ensure the reliability of your engine.

To facilitate bearing assembly and preserve its integrity. We strongly recommend that you chill the bearing in a freezer for 2 hours beforehand, and that you heat the area of the engine block that will receive the IMS to 120 degrees.

- Original two-row version: Use the 6 mm spacer ring and a closed circlip for mounting (see application image for two-row version).

- Original single-row version: Do not use the 6 mm spacer ring. Use an open circlip as a retaining ring

Also, make sure there's no oil in the intermediate shaft tube before fitting the bearing!

Centrifugal force, combined with residual oil, creates a counterweight that will destroy the bearing prematurely.

This product must be installed by a professional. The warranty can only be applied on presentation of an invoice attesting to installation by a qualified professional.
