Speedometer pinion for BMW 3 Series E30:

• Compatible with all BMW 3 Series E30 Saloon, Touring, Baur, Coupé and Cabriolet models from 12/181 up to and including 02/1994, including the M3 E30 sports model.

On the BMW 3 Series E30, the speedometer suffers from a fault related to the small drive pinion located within the speedometer mechanism. Over time, this plastic pinion can wear out, crack or lose some of its teeth, preventing the mechanism from operating correctly. This can result in the speedometer failing to work, the needle remaining at zero or moving intermittently, and the odometer no longer increasing correctly. The problem is therefore likely to be caused by wear to the speedometer’s internal gear and requires its replacement to restore normal operation.
