Gearbox seals for classic cars: performance and tightness

Gearbox gaskets are essential to ensure the sealing and durability of the gearboxes in your classic and vintage cars. Available for emblematic models such as the Citroën 2CV, the Porsche 356 and the Renault 4, these components help to keep your vehicles running at their best while respecting their authenticity.

When should a gearbox seal be replaced?

Over time, gearbox seals can wear out due to temperature variations, mechanical wear or material degradation. Early signs include oil leaks or loss of pressure in the system. For example, a spinnaker seal for a Porsche 914 or a seal pocket for a Renault 4 should be replaced as soon as these symptoms appear to avoid damage to the transmission.

How do you choose your gearbox seals?

The choice of gearbox seals depends on the model and year of manufacture of your vehicle. For example, for a Citroën 2CV, a 6-hole paper gasket is often required, while a Porsche 356 needs a specific output shaft spi gasket. Make sure you also select products adapted to the original specifications to guarantee a faithful and effective restoration.
