Spare parts Volkswagen Scirocco 1 and 2

The Scirocco project was born out of Volkswagen’s desire to refresh its range. With the Beetles and Karmann Ghias growing old, VW was thinking about its future models.

The idea for a coupé came from the Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, whilst he was working on the Golf project in the early 1970s. Built in collaboration with the Karmann factory, which was already producing the Karmann Ghia, 795,650 VW Sciroccos were produced between 1974 and 1992, with a facelift in 1981.

An iconic model for the brand, the third generation was unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show after a six-year hiatus for the name. In the intervening years, it was known as the Corrado, running concurrently with the career of its sister model, the Golf (then in its second, third and fourth generations).
