Volkswagen's emblematic vehicle, the Corrado coupé, was produced from 1988 in the Karmann factories in Osnabrück. As a 2+2 sports coupe, it is intended to be a showcase for the brand. Its chassis is based on that of the Golf 2 (then the Golf 3), coupled to the rear axle of the Passat 3.

In total, no less than five versions are available:

• Corrado 115: The most sober version, available from 1993 equipped with a 2.0l 115hp engine.
• Corrado 16S: For 16 valves, produced from 1989, equipped with a 1.8L engine, then 2.0l of 136hp.
• Corrado G60: Fitted with a 1.8L, 8-valve G60 supercharger engine block. It develops 160hp.
• Corrado SLC: Marketed only across the Atlantic, equipped with a large 2.8l engine with 174hp.
• Corrado VR6: Produced from 1992 to 1995, it is the most powerful version, equipped with the 2.9l 12-valve engine with a power of 190hp.

Sold less than 100,000 copies in 7 years of marketing, the VW Corrado remains an exceptional model today, difficult to find in (good) original condition.
