The 4th generation of VW Passat was produced from 1996. For the first time since the B2 model, Passat shared its platform with its cousin, the Audi A4. The design of this new version of VW Passat is designed to optimize air penetration, which gives the car a very aerodynamic look that did not go unnoticed at the time. Four engines are in the catalog when it comes out: the 1.8l and 2.8l V6 petrol, and two Diesel, the 1.9l TDi and 2.5 TDi V6. This B4 version of the Passat received numerous awards during its career, such as best car in its category (1998) and best family car (1999).
