This seal is fitted between the sleeve (which protects the rocker arms) and the engine sump or cylinder head. Essential when overhauling a Type 1, Type 4 or CT/WBX engine, it guarantees a perfect seal against high temperatures and engine oil spray.
Inner or outerseal on the casing tube.
Dimensions: 29 x 19.8 x 6 mm
16 required per engine, sold individually.
(Transporter: only 8 required on the cylinder head side)
When overhauling the timing system or investigating oil leaks beneath the engine, it is strongly recommended that all 8 jacket tube seals be replaced. A light coat of neutral grease on the metal sheet facilitates installation without damaging the seal.
Check: Once the cylinder head gasket is in place and the cylinder head is tightened to the correct torque, the gasket should be slightly compressed in its housing without any visible pinching or deformation.
