CSP speed-sensing relay for 12 V electric fuel pump

With a mechanical fuel pump, switching off the engine causes the fuel pump to stop.

Fitting an electric fuel pump, particularly for tuned engines, requires the installation of a cut-off relay for safety reasons, to prevent any risk of fire.

By monitoring the coil, the safety cut-off relay will deactivate the pump, for example, in the event of an accident.

This CSP-branded system also protects the fuel pump from damage (risk of overheating) that can occur when the engine is switched off but the ignition is on.

When the ignition is switched on, the relay activates the fuel pump for approximately 2 seconds and then switches it off again. This prevents the risk of the pump overheating. The relay only activates when a running engine is detected via the connection to the ignition coil. If the engine stops, the relay cuts off the power supply to the fuel pump.

IMPORTANT: The ignition coil resistance must not be less than 2 ohms on the primary side; please check compatibility, particularly if your vehicle is fitted with electronic ignition.
