Product description
Opt for the split-type boot with fasteners if you wish to carry out the replacement without removing the driveshaft or rear axle. Ensure the seam/screwed joint is positioned horizontally (at 3 o’clock or 9 o’clock) to prevent any risk of water ingress or oil leaks.
This split boot will make installation easier as it does not require the bell housing to be removed.
This driveshaft boot for a flanged driveshaft protects the gearbox fluid and shields the half-shaft joint from dust, sand and water. Manufactured to original specifications using high-quality elastomer rubber, it offers remarkable flexibility and excellent resistance to splash damage, ageing and hydrocarbons. Essential when overhauling a rear axle or to stop a gearbox oil leak near the wheels.
This drive shaft boot is supplied with fixings and two original-style clamp rings for a perfect seal.
Please remember to order the UO10441 clamp from us. You can replace these with universal Serflex-type clamps if you wish.
Check: Once the bellows are clamped onto the gearbox casing and the spout, manually cycle the rear suspension through its full range of movement to check that no excessive tension is stretching the rubber.
Fits left or right-hand side.
Sold individually.
For Brazilian VW Split Combi models from 1957 to 1975. The tailpipe bellows ensure a seal between the gearbox and the tailpipe; they do not contain any grease.
When fitting, ensure the slit is positioned facing upwards for an optimal seal. Make sure you do not tighten the clamps whilst the wheels are off the ground, as this could cause the rubber to twist: tightening is recommended using a jack stand or a four-post lift.
