The black EMPI Super Shroud Doghouse engine turbine, with no heating air ducts, takes up the classic aesthetics of 36 HP turbines while offering significantly better cooling performance for air-cooled Volkswagen engines.

Its modern design optimises air flow while retaining a vintage look that is much appreciated by enthusiasts.

The turbine is a Super Fan Shroud style 36 HP (latest version) in Doghouse format, incorporating an external oil cooler.

Its semi-gloss black finish gives it a neat, understated look in the engine compartment. It is compatible with the original 28 to 30 mm fans, as well as the 37 mm high flow fans.

Its internal architecture has been developed using CFD simulations and flow bench tests, while its 'velocity stack' air intake, inspired by the Porsche 356, promotes better air supply. The flow distribution is also balanced between the two sides of the engine to ensure even cooling.

Cooling performance is particularly remarkable. Combined with a 37 mm fan, this turbine increases air flow to the cylinders and cylinder heads by 38% compared with a non-Doghouse turbine. It is also 7% more efficient than a Doghouse OEM turbine and 23% more efficient than most Doghouse aftermarket turbines.

Cooling of the oil cooler is also significantly improved, with up to 242% more airflow than an original Doghouse turbine.

Thanks to these features, this turbine contributes to the engine's thermal stability and longevity. The absence of heating ducts also makes for a more streamlined installation, which is particularly appreciated in performance-oriented configurations.

This turbine is particularly well suited to prepared engines, vehicles intended for off-road use and configurations that do not require a heating system. For best results, we recommend combining it with a 37 mm fan and complete Doghouse sheet metal work. It is also important to make sure that the motor sheets are perfectly sealed to avoid any recirculation of hot air and to maintain cooling efficiency.
