Bigger, more rigid, safer. The NC modernizes the MX-5 with an entirely new platform. Naturally aspirated engines, meticulous weight distribution, and consistently lively handling. Some consider it less pure. It's simply more mature. Mazda eschews the horsepower race and remains committed to controlled lightness.
Faithful to the original concept, the third generation of the Mazda MX5, officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on March 3, 2005, saw the light of day at the end of that same year. The Mazda MX-5 NC is a more massive model while retaining the silhouette of previous generations, unlike the Mazda Mk2 the hood boss reappears. This model is simply an improvement of the Miata with a more modern design. The big change is the electric retractable roof that transforms the Mazda MX5 NC convertible into a refined coupe. Overall the Japanese spirit is preserved, the electronics have progressed: the dashboard and the controls are modern. There are plenty of storage spaces in the cabin. Two more powerful engines are available for this car: 1.8l of 126 hp and 2.0l of 160 hp.
