6V ->12V conversion kit with alternator for Volkswagen Beetle

Complete conversion kit to upgrade the electrical circuit from 6 to 12 volts, or to switch economically from dynamo to alternator.

Includes :
- 12-volt / 55-amp alternator
- Belt, flanges and mounting accessories
- BOSCH or BERU 12-volt ignition coil
- Original 12-volt horn
- Blinker / headlight / light relay
- Converter for wiper motor
- Voltage reducer (resistor) 12V ->6V
- Inclined fuel pump push rod
- Carburetor base plate with gaskets

To be provided : 12V carburetor bulbs, starter and choke.
The 6V starter can be kept or replaced by a 12V model with a 29 mm pinion, or 25 mm with a 130-tooth flywheel).
Note: If you replace a dynamo with an alternator, keeping the original carburetor, the pick-up pump cam may touch the alternator body.
You'll need the VC70530 trade-in pump lever.

For VW Beetle

During assembly, you may need to align the alternator pulley with the crankshaft pulley. Remember to order kit VC60011.

Please read carefully:

On some 1200 engines, the position of the dynamo support makes alignment impossible, even with the washer kit. It will not compensate for a misalignment greater than 5mm. It is imperative to take precautions before fitting, as we cannot accept returns if traces of assembly are present.
