Camshaft EMPI GTV-86A for Volkswagen engine type 1 - 290 degrees

This EMPI GTV-86A camshaft for Volkswagen Type 1 engines is a reference for Type 1 competition engines from 1600cc displacement upwards.

Developed in collaboration with Web-Cam Inc. and manufactured in the USA, this camshaft is machined in a refrigerated foundry to EMPI specifications. GTV series camshafts are nitrided (ion nitriding ) for easy running-in and incomparable surface hardness over a thickness of 20microns.

Valve lift (exhaust and intake): 0.469" => 11.92mm at 1.4:1

Cam lift: 0.335" =>8.5mm

Opening time: 290°.

Supplied with "Web-Cam" molybdenum mounting grease and high-grade notched washers and bolts, all camshaft specifications can be found in the downloadable pdf.

Mount the pulley on its AAC using Loctite threadlocker and tighten to torque (2.5daN). In some cases, it may be necessary to lightly grind the screw heads if they touch the oil pump body during blank assembly.
