The window deflector surround gasket is a component made of rubber or similar material, designed to seal and protect against water, dust and noise infiltration around a vehicle's window deflector. The window deflector, or "vignette" (also called air deflector or trim), is a small part that can be installed on side windows or windshields to deflect air and prevent rain or wind from entering the passenger compartment.

The seal prevents the infiltration of water, dust, dirt or noise into the vehicle's interior. It forms a barrier between the window deflector and the car body, ensuring that rainwater does not enter the vehicle.

If the window deflector perimeter seal becomes worn or defective, you may notice water entering the vehicle when driving in the rain or washing your car.

A defective gasket can lead to increased wind noise or vibrations when driving at high speed, especially if the deflector is poorly secured. The rubber of the gasket may crack, peel or become stiff, reducing its effectiveness and appearance.

Replacing window deflector gaskets is an important part of keeping your vehicle airtight and comfortable . If you notice any signs of seal failure, it's best to replace it before sealing or insulation problems occur.
