Spare parts Porsche 911 type G

Produced from 1973 to 1989, the 911 G-series is the 911 that endured. With its bellows-style bumpers and enhanced safety features, it still retained the air-cooled flat-six engine mounted in an overhanging position. It weathered economic crises, increased its engine displacement, gained power, and forged the Porsche image of the 1980s. Less fragile than one might think, more robust than it appears.

Presented in 1963 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Porsche 911, originally called 901, was produced and marketed the following year. Equipped with a 2.0l 6-cylinder flat engine of 130hp, a variant of the latter was presented the same year, the 912. The 912 received the 1.6l engine of the 356, which developed 90hp. After 3 years of production, the 911 is available in two versions, the 911 L, for Luxus: and the 911 S for Sport: whose power increases to 160hp, then 170hp in 1968. At the same time, the 912 is discovered and adopts the name Targa, in reference to the Targa Florio race won by Porsche on several occasions. The 911 T for Touring was introduced in 1967. It was equipped with the boxer engine with a power of 110hp. In 1969, all 911s adopted the 2.2l, then 2.4l in 1972, increasing the power of each version of the 911 at the same time. Thus, while the L disappeared from the catalog to make way for the 911 E, the most powerful version (911S) increased to 190hp and became the fastest car manufactured in Germany (240 km/h). After 10 years of production, the 911 was thoroughly reviewed and Porsche unveiled the Type G in 1973. In 1974, Porsche presented what would become a legend: the 911 Turbo. The first sports car equipped with a turbocharger, it features a 3.0l 260hp engine, giving it a top speed of more than 250km/h. In 1976, the brand marketed two new models, the 3.0l Carrera (200hp) and the SC (180hp to 204hp). At that time, Porsche wanted to separate from the 911 in order to favor its other models. It was due to the attachment of customers to this car that its replacement was presented in 1988.
