I mounted this air valve on water jerrycans bought in a DIY store. I drilled a hole in it with a drill. Then pushed the tap through with the little black nozzle. Good seal, and I can now empty my 20-liter can into the caravan tank 3 times faster than before.

Perfectly effective for its intended use. Please note that a pre-hole is required if the can is of good thickness.
