Different engine types for the Porsche 912 from 1965 to 1969

The 912 received only one engine, offered in two types: the 616/36 from 1965 to 1969, then the 616/39 in 1969, the last US version. This 1.582 L flat-four, derived from the 356 SC unit, is fed by two Solex 40 PII carburettors and produces 90 hp and 122 Nm at 3,500 rpm. Its camshaft is gear-driven.
