Autoglym Clean Wheels is a powerful, fast-acting formula that removes corrosive brake dust and road grime. Suitable for painted alloy wheels and painted plastic hubcaps.

As the formula contains acid, do not use on wheels with flaking varnish, or on unvarnished wheels.

Do not use on chrome, anodized or polished aluminum rims.

Thanks to its concentrated formula, MOTUL WHEEL CLEAN effectively dissolves grease, oil and brake dust residues on rims, without attacking paint or varnish. Suitable for all types of rims (aluminium, painted, chromed, varnished, etc.).

CarPro Iron X ferrous decontaminant (500 ml) is a ready-to-use product that dissolves metallic particles embedded in the bodywork and wheel rims: brake dust, ferrous deposits and early signs of rust. These particles become embedded in the paintwork and wheel rims, causing them to lose their shine, and cannot be removed by a simple wash.

It is quick and easy to use thanks to its spray applicator. On contact with ferrous particles, the product changes colour (red/purple), allowing you to see it working without having to scrub. It then makes it easier to polish, protect and buff the bodywork.

It is suitable for car paintwork, wheel rims, windows and chrome surfaces. Remember to test the product on an inconspicuous area before treating old paintwork, polished wheel rims or delicate original finishes.

Do not allow the product to dry on the surface; do not use it in direct sunlight or on a hot surface; and avoid contact with the eyes and skin. The product has a strong odour: work in a well-ventilated area.

Instructions for use:

• Wash and rinse the car or wheel rims beforehand, then leave them in the shade on a cool surface
• Shake the bottle
• Spray the product onto the clean surface, working from bottom to top, panel by panel
• Leave for a few minutes, without allowing it to dry, until the colour appears
• Gently brush the wheel rims with a soft brush if necessary, focusing on the dirtiest areas
• Rinse thoroughly with clean water
• Repeat the process if any traces of dirt remain

Over time, tyres turn grey, become covered in brake dust and lose their shine. The Mecatechnic tyre care kit has been designed to remedy this: three complementary products to clean the sidewalls, remove ingrained grime and restore a neat finish.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Rinse the tyres. With the tyres cool and in the shade, rinse with clean water to remove dust and grit. (A hot tyre will cause the product to dry too quickly.)
2. Brush the sidewalls. Using the brush, scrub the sidewall of the tyre with steady movements, paying particular attention to the grey areas and lettering. Rinse with clean water.
3. Dry the tyre. Leave it to dry or wipe it with a clean cloth (not included in the kit). A dry tyre ensures the product adheres properly.
4. Apply the product. Spray the cleaner and polish onto the applicator pad, rather than directly onto the tyre, to avoid splashing onto the rim, paintwork and brakes.
5. Spread in a thin layer. Rub the pad over the tyre sidewall using even strokes across the entire surface. (Avoid the tread, rims and brake discs.)
6. Leave to dry and check. Leave it to work for a few minutes, then wipe off any excess if the tyre looks greasy. The finish should be even.

Tips

• Always work in the shade and on cold tyres to avoid drying marks.
• Never leave any polish on the tread: it must retain its grip.
• Reserve the brush and pad for the tyres only, and rinse them after use to avoid spreading dirt onto the rim.
• For a more matt finish, apply a thin coat. For a glossier effect, apply a second coat once the first is dry.
• Wipe off any splashes on the paintwork or rim immediately.
• Rinse the pad with clean water and leave it to dry before storing it.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Rinse the wheel rims. With the rims cool and in the shade, rinse with clean water to remove dust and grit. (A hot rim causes the products to dry too quickly and may leave streaks.)
2. Apply the cleaner. Spray the wheel cleaner over the entire surface, including the inside of the rim. Leave to work for 1 to 2 minutes without allowing it to dry.
3. Brush the rims. Use the large brush for the inside of the rim, the medium brush for the face and spokes, and the finest brush for the nuts and nooks and crannies. Work on the product whilst it is still damp, then rinse thoroughly. Keep these brushes for use on rims only.
4. Decontaminate with Iron X. On a clean, rinsed rim, spray Iron X over the entire surface. Leave it to work for a few minutes: the product changes colour on contact with ferrous particles. Do not let it dry.
5. Brush and rinse. Gently work the brushes over the heaviest areas, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. The rims should be smooth and free of any product residue.
6. Dry and check. Dry with a clean microfibre cloth (not included in the kit) and check the result in the light. Repeat step 4 if any traces of contamination remain.

Tips

• Always work in the shade and on cool rims to avoid drying marks.
• Never mix the products together: rinse the rims thoroughly between using the cleaner and Iron X.
• Wear gloves and ensure good ventilation: Iron X has a strong odour.
• On older rims (chrome, polished aluminium, spoked rims, original paintwork), test the products on an inconspicuous area first.
• Reserve the brushes for the rims and rinse them after use: they retain abrasive particles.
• Rinse the brakes, calipers and underbody with clean water if the products have come into contact with them.
