The front panel for VW Golf 1 Cabriolet and Sedan supports the headlights, grille, coolant radiator and front engine mount.

This front panel for Volkswagen Golf mk1 in metal is said to be "adaptable", as it does not come from the manufacturer.
It is supplied in black stock paint. Before final painting, it's essential to treat and prepare the front panel to prevent corrosion from quickly reappearing.

The front end generally suffers from rust and various impacts throughout its life.

This VW Golf 1 front panel will fit the following models:
- Golf 1 Sedan from 1979 to 1984, up to chassis number ->17-E-299999
- Golf 1 Cabriolet from 1979 to 1987, for 3-part grille, but can be adapted to more recent Cabriolet models
- Caddy all years

The Golf mk1 front panel can't be simply dismantled, so replacing it requires some serious bodywork knowledge.

It's necessary to remove the old front panel and weld on the new one, making sure that everything lines up properly.

different front panel at the top, at the level of the builder's plate (model after the small lights), but no difficulty in fitting and correct finish. provide inserts for fitting the radiators.

Needs work, spotwelds needs redoing in several places, Material seems to be thinner than original. The one that I received had several dents, was twisted and spotwelds had broken loose. This might me due to poor packing / and / or handeling. I usually can swap out one of these in a couple of hours, but this one took me the whole day. Had to drill out some of the spotwelds on the upper frame to realign correctly.
