This seal, positioned in the groove of the wheel hub, is traversed by the transmission shaft. It plays an essential role in providing a seal between the hub and the shaft, preventing lubricant leakage or the intrusion of contaminants.
This assembly is specific to OE driveshafts. It is not required for Rzeppa replacement shafts, whose design makes this seal superfluous.
