Camshaft button for VOLKSWAGEN Combi Split Brazil (1957-1975)
Description
The camshaft lifter is an engine component used in the timing system to transmit the movement of the camshaft to the engine valves. Its main role is to maintain constant contact between the camshaft and the valves, while ensuring smooth, precise operation of the timing system.
The camshaft lifter is located between the camshaft and the valve. When the camshaft turns, it pushes on the tappet, which in turn transmits this movement to the valve, enabling it to open and close at precise moments in the engine cycle. This plays a key role in the smooth running of the engine's valve train.
The tappet ensures that valves are opened and closed with great precision, enabling optimum control of the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chambers. This improves overall engine performance , fuel efficiency and emissions reduction.
Tappets also act as shock absorbers. They absorb vibrations generated by engine operation, particularly those coming from the camshaft, thus reducing the risk of premature wear of internal engine components.
In short, the camshaft lifter is a key element in the timing system, ensuring smooth, precise engine operation, improving performance, reducing component wear and reducing the need for maintenance by eliminating mechanical play in the system.
This camshaft lifter for mechanical timing is designed for Brazilian VW Combi Split from 1957 to 1975.
Sold individually. German quality.
