Description Product
The fuel filler cap (or fuel cap) is an important part of the car, not only to prevent fuel from evaporating, but also to ensure vehicle safety. It serves to seal the fuel tank opening, and may also play a role in the tank's ventilation system.
It prevents fuel leaks, particularly in the event of accidents or shocks, while maintaining constant pressure in the tank.
It prevents foreign objects or water from entering the tank, which could damage the engine or compromise fuel quality.
The cap can wear out over time, especially the rubber seal, which can lead to fuel or vapor leaks. If the cap is faulty (cracks, worn seal, broken locking mechanism), we recommend replacing it.
A persistent smell of gasoline, even after refueling, can be caused by a fuel cap that no longer closes properly.
A faulty fuel cap can not only lead to fuel loss or pollutant emissions, so don't overlook this detail!
This original German quality fuel filler cap fits VW Combi Bay Window from 08/1973 to 07/1979 from chassis no. 214 2000 001.
Metal model, supplied with 2 keys.
