- 520-6 6cyl 122hp phase 2 from 08/1977 to 06/1981 (engine code M20B20)

E28 :
- 520i 6cyl 125hp from 11/1980 to 12/1987 (engine code M20B20)
- 525e 6cyl 2.7L 125hp from 11/1982 to 11/1986 (engine code M20B27)

ATTENTION: Not suitable for E28 525e produced from 12/1986 (head diameter is 36mm not 34mm)!
