A worn or defective top spinnaker seal can lead to fluid leakage, making steering more difficult or less precise, which can affect the operation of the gearbox and therefore the safety of the vehicle. Replacing this seal requires dismantling the steering box, which in turn requires a certain amount of technical expertise. If you notice fluid leaks or steering becoming harder, this may be a sign that the spi gasket needs replacing.

This upper steering box spi gasket fits VW Combi Bay Window from 08/1972 to 07/1979.
