Five petrol engines follow one another in the DS, from the 1955 DS 19 to the DS 23 models phased out in 1975. All are in-line four-cylinder units with chain-driven timing, with outputs quoted in SAE hp: from 75 hp for the first DS 19 to 141 hp for the DS 23 Injection. The Injection versions use Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection, the others a carburettor. Note the engine type, from DS19 to DX5, to order parts that exactly match your DS.
