From 1991 to 2003, the 106 was offered with twelve engines: ten petrol and two diesel, all from the TU family and all belt-driven. Outputs range from 45 hp for the 1.0 TU9 to 120 hp for the 1.6 16v TU5J4 of the S16 and GTI, by way of the Rallye and XSi. On the diesel side, the indirect-injection TUD3 and TUD5 deliver 50 and 58 hp. Find your 106's engine code in this table: it determines which parts will fit.
