Caution: when aligning the Ø4.75 copper tube with the jaw, set it back 1mm from the edge of the jaw. otherwise it will wrinkle.

Hello, overall I am satisfied with my purchase from Mecatechnic of this Toolatelier tool for flaring brake hoses. I could say that, at Mecatechnic's current price, this is the best offer in terms of value for money. There's nothing to say about the quality and speed of delivery. It's perfect on both counts. Now, the reason I gave it a rating of 4/5 instead of 5/5 is as follows: - one of the reasons that led me to Mecatechnic rather than another distributor - beyond the competitive price as I mentioned - was the red and blue color of the handle, which I liked and which was clearly identifiable on the photo of the article on the Mecatechnic site, and which I thought was nicer than the basic black handle offered by other merchants for the same equipment, Bad luck, in the end I received a tool equipped with the basic black handle... - also, it would have been nice if the little chrome bar used to tighten the bit-holding rider had had a stop flat at each end. Unfortunately, it's only fitted on one side, so it's not uncommon for the bar to slip out of the clamping screw and fall to the ground unexpectedly. That's not good. - As I mainly work on 3/16th / 4.75mm rigid pipes, the jaws for these pipes do the job well. A little plus would have been if each pair of jaws had been fitted with small keying pins, which is not the case, unlike other similar products on the market. - finally, I don't have any real use for it right now, but my first tests, just to see, with the pair of 1/4" pipe jaws didn't give very top results, e.g. for making a simple SAE-standard flare drinker: the back of the "ball" isn't very clean, not very smooth, with a potential doubt as to what it could give in terms of real watertightness in use...
