Gearbox linkage repair silent-blocks are components used to reduce vibration and noise in your Transporter's gearbox control system. The gearbox linkage is a set of rods and mechanisms which connect the gearshift to the internal mechanism of the gearbox. Silent-blocs are positioned on these fixing or linking points to absorb the vibrations generated when shifting gears, for greater comfort and smoothness.

When these silent-blocs are worn or damaged, this can lead to excessive noise, vibration at the shifter or difficulty shifting gears. Replacing these silent-blocs is therefore essential to maintain drivetrain performance and ride quality.

Kit with a lot of parts that don't fit this model. Otherwise it's OK.

The small ball joint proved unmountable on a T4 2.4D in its current state (the diameter of the shaft on my control rod is too large, and what's more, it's secured by a pin). I was nevertheless able to modify it for use; but being one of the parts justifying the repair, it's rather disappointing. Some parts are not used on my assembly (indeed, there seem to be a few differences between the different versions on the lever and linkage side); but apart from the small ball joint, all the wear parts I needed were finally in the kit. A final word on quality: some plastics seem too hard to me, and already show a lot of molding defects. I'm a bit sceptical about how they'll hold up over time.
