The Audi A6 C4, the first of its kind, is actually a slightly revamped Audi 100 C4.

Despite its style, which is starting to show its age, this facelift did it good and allowed it to compete with Mercedes-Benz and other BMW models until its replacement in 1997. It comes equipped with the entry-level 1.8L 125hp and 1.9L TDi 90hp engines. The most muscular and luxurious version, called the Audi S6, benefits from a 4.2L V8 engine with 326hp, borrowed from its big sister, the A8. Available as a sedan or estate, with front-wheel drive or Quattro (depending on the engine), it was assembled in Neckarsulm, Germany, until 1997, the year this version was discontinued.
