Introduced in 2006, the 2nd generation of the Audi TT modernizes itself while retaining its characteristic round, sporty nature.

It adopts the single-frame grille, distinctive to every Audi model, almond-shaped headlights, and new-style taillights that will be echoed in the R8's design.

Longer and better equipped, the Audi TT 8J also welcomes a new direct-injection gasoline engine, the 2.0L TFSI with 211 horsepower. This version represents the majority of sales, followed by the 1.8L TFSi with 160 horsepower and the 2.0L TDi diesel version with 170 horsepower. Another novelty of this Audi TT mk2 is the sporty TT S and TT RS versions, with 272 horsepower and 340 horsepower, respectively, and later the TT RS+ with 360 horsepower introduced in 2012. The arrival of the 3rd generation (8S) in 2014 marks the end of the marketing of this Audi TT 8J.
