Porsche 914 engine options

Different engine types for the Porsche 914 from 1969 to 1976

Four engines share the 914 between 1969 and 1976. The 914/4 uses VW-sourced flat-fours of 1.7 L, 1.8 L and then 2.0 L, all with gear-driven camshafts, fed by Bosch D-Jetronic injection or two Solex carburettors, from 80 to 100 hp. The 914/6 takes the 911 T's chain-driven 901/36 six-cylinder: 1.991 L, two Weber carburettors and 110 hp. Telling a 914/4 from a 914/6 is the first step to finding the right parts.
