Presented by Porsche in 2004, the 911 type 997 revived the traditions. The circular optical are once again at the front. Its engine boxer 'flat 6' of 3.6l develops 320hp, still cooled by air (since the 996). The range of engines was rapidly completed by a 6-cylinders 3.8l of 355hp, which is on the 911 Carrera S, and then improved in order to equipped the other variations S of the 911 (except the GT2 RS). A 911 had never been proposed in as many versions as the 997. Carrera, Carrera 4, Turbo (2006), Targa, GT and its variations S and RS represent in total almost 24 models of 911 available! This version 997 of Porsche hold also the record of the most sold 911, with a peak of 38 922 sold copies in 2007! Slightly redesigned in 2008, she adopted daytime running lights and brake lights with LED and enjoyed a rejuvenation of the shields allowing it to extend its career for 4 additional years before the arrival of the 991.
