Engines Porsche 993

The Porsche 911 goes under the name of type 993, has special that it is the last version to receive the boxer engine cooled by air. Officially presented on 9/11/1993, it will be almost alone in the Porsche catalog for 4 years. The 993 is remarkable: its lower and slender line, thanks to its no longer round but poly-ellipsoidal lights and its bumpers perfectly integrated into the design of the body. This version of the 911 quickly gained an image of reliability and agility, due to its famous air-cooled 6-cylinder flat engine and its completely new aluminum chassis! The Porsche 993 Turbo was the first, in 1995, to receive a 3.6l twin-turbo engine developing 408hp, ensuring high performance. The Targa, on the other hand, is equipped with an electric glass roof, which slides under the rear window. Sold until 1998, this 993 will remain in the minds of many, as the last real Porsche 911 before the water came to cool the most purists of them!
